Thank you FHP TAMPA!

This Is A Sincere Thank You to the Florida Highway Patrol Of Tampa Bay

Typically….when heading north bound on I-275 from St. Petersburg FL the traffic going into the Tampa Airport at any given time on any given day can be backed up due to drivers cutting in at the last second at the exit to TPA where there is also an exit for Kennedy Blvd.

If people would simply understand that the backup is caused by people like themselves cutting in line. If you stop doing it, then the backup will go away.

I have seen countless accidents due to this. It really gets me when other professional drivers, including those from the same company I represent cut in also.

It simply is unsafe and causes more delay.

I have been wishing for a long time that the Florida State Highway Patrol, FHP would sit there right at the exit and form a presence. It would help a great deal, because people would not cut in as much.

Well, FHP Tampa must have heard me wishing because the other day as I approached the exit there was NO backup…..none, nadda, zip, ZERO backup!!

Why?  Because there was an FHP Squad sitting right there at the split!  I LOVED IT!

It was awesome and a first for me!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO FHP TAMPA BAY!!

Please Please Please, FHP of Tampa, sit there daily.

It Works!

Thanks Again!!

Professional Taxi/Limo Drivers VS Non-Professional Drivers

OK, so you are getting ready to go out to dinner

Or maybe to the airport for a fun trip to Europe

Or maybe simply for a night out on the town

As you get into the car that is picking you up….would you like to know that the driver is a “professional?”

Or does it matter if the driver is simply a “casual” driver who thought to themselves one day…..”I can do this” and signed up and put their own personal car on the road.

Remember….you have hired this car and driver for transportation and you are paying for it.

Your intention was not to hire a technology service.

One of the ride-share companies out there states that they……”are a technology company, not a transportation service.” This is so they can avoid proper licensing.

Hmmmmmm……so what is the mindset there….do they really care about your transportation and safety?

Please look closely at the photo above of the Executive Towncar I drive for BATS. You will see displayed 3 stickers on the rear windshield showing the licensing for our service area. This is important.

In our area here in Pinellas County and Hillsborough County FL, if you do not see these stickers, then the car you hired is not licensed. In our area, If the driver does not or cannot present to you their badge from the City of St. Petersburg for Pinellas County showing they are licensed and had their background checked by the St. Petersburg Police and/or their badge from the Hillsborough County Public Transportation Commission showing his/her Public Vehicle Drivers License and therefore having their level 2 background checked and approved by the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Department……

Then simply……they are not licensed and approved. Period.

First, let me say that I understand and realize that there are many professional drivers now driving for ride-share companies. However, there are also very many “casual” drivers doing the same.

My worry here is that the “casual” driver may not know what they are getting themselves into. Especially in real busy markets.

You need to know the road so to speak. The ins and outs, where the problems usually develop and what areas to avoid because they are heavy potentials for problems on the roads.

Professionals drive the roads every day…..professionally.

There is a different “mindset” to the professional driver opposed to the “casual” driver.

I am not saying that a professional driver is perfect, we all are human. I also am not saying that a “background check” makes a perfect driver either.

What I am saying is that both of those do increase your odds of being safe and having a pleasant ride.

In addition, with a “professional” driver you typically have more accountability and honestly that is the best feature for you the passengers safety.

Also, please keep this in mind…..

The local public transit commissions have inspections for a purpose….one of those is to ensure the transportation companies…the ones who are properly licensed that is….are safe. If they do not show their certified mechanics inspection they do not receive their permit sticker and they do not go on the road. Period.

If you are hiring a car service that is much cheaper than anyone else….what do you think that means?

It means that driver who owns that car…his/her personal car is also making less money, in many cases much less money. The driver needs to make an income. Isn’t it ok if he/she makes a decent income? Or would you like them to barely be squeaking by?

THAT…makes it difficult for that driver to keep their car up to par.

You took that service because they were cheaper…..what do you think that driver is going to do when he/she gets money in their bank? Put food on the table and pay their rent….or maintain their car?

My bottom line here is…go with and ride with anyone you choose of course…anyone who fits your needs.

But remember, you are handing them the keys to you and your families, friends or clients safety.

Hire and go with a professional

Thank you, Lance Greene

A Beautiful Day 4 Flying!

Yesterday, 5-9-2015 came full circle for me

It has been a good number of years since I owned my own limousine service and was bringing clients to and picking them up from their private planes.

Yesterday was a beautiful day here in the St. Petersburg, Florida area and I once again got to bring a client to their airplane for their trip home.

It was an awesome way to start the day.

A great deal of fun for me.

It told me once again, that I am doing what I am supposed to be doing.

:-))!

Things To Know When Hiring Airport Transportation in Tampa

Welcome To Florida!

When Hiring a Town Car at an airport it is always good and important to know a few things before doing so, in order to help you, your fellow passengers and your driver all have a great experience.

Personally, as a professional driver, this is what I need to know in order to ensure a smooth experience for you.

Scheduling

****PLEASE NOTE: From Pinellas County you may take a Taxi or Town Car Service TO the Airport. HOWEVER, Pinellas Taxi’s are not allowed to pick up at the Tampa International Airport, so you MUST order a Town Car for your ride into Pinellas and it is actually very cost effective. Less expensive than taking a Tampa taxi from the Airport to Pinellas typically.  Example: Our current rate at Bat’s Taxi & Town Car, to or from TPA to St. Pete Beach or Clearwater Beach in one of our Town Cars is $65.00.  Fare to TPA in one of our Taxi’s is $54.00 from St. Pete Beach to TPA for example.

1) Cell Phone Number: Your Cell phone number is preferred or the cell phone number of the person we are picking up.  This is very important as airports can be confusing to some and it enables us to reach you easily. Please turn your cell phone on as soon as you land.  Personally, I prefer to have you see the sign I am carrying with your name on it rather than calling and disturbing you as you are trying to exit the plane. I will however call you if it has been over 20 minutes and you have not found me yet.  IF, you or the person(s) we are picking up do not have a cell phone please make sure you describe to us what they look like (hair color) and if you can what they will be wearing, primarily what colors. Believe me, it makes a huge difference in time.

2) Flight Information: This is extremely important as we receive the incorrect flight information all the time and it ends up creating a huge opportunity for error in picking you up.  ***When you are ordering your car and driver, whether you do so via phone or the internet, please read and input the flight information directly from your ticket or airline confirmation/Itinerary and supply us with the following: 1) The Flight number  2) City you will be departing from…please provide the city which you will be flying from…in other words, if you flew to another city before going onto your final destination, please provide that most recent city as your “departure from city”.   3) Arrival time

3) Passengers and Luggage etc etc etc:  Please advise us how many passengers there will be.  IF, you or they do not have a cell phone please make sure you describe to us what they look like and if you can what they will be wearing, primarily what colors.  Will there be children? Their ages? Please keep in mind there are new car seat rules for children in 2015.  FLORIDA CAR SEAT RULES  Will you have car seats for your children? Will you need one?  Will you have a stroller? How many and how big?  Will there be anyone in a wheelchair? Will you have a wheelchair with you? How many pieces of luggage will you have including checked and carry-ons?  Are any of them oversized?

4) Meeting Your Driver: Most of us professional drivers will be holding a printed sign or an electronic tablet with your name on it and we will meet you typically at the baggage claim level on the side that your airline lets out on…either red side or blue side. IF you DO NOT have any checked luggage, I personally believe it is best to meet you on level 3 where you come off the trams.  That way, we go directly to the elevator and up to the car in the parking garage. Saves us all an extra step and time. Bottom line?  I want to meet you where is best for you and where YOU want to be met. Simply let me know your preference.

Tampa Airport Baggage Claim Area: There is a Red Side (pictured below) and a Blue Side which you can tell by the color of the elevator banks. This depends on what airline you are on.

Red Side Baggage Claim at Tampa International Airport

Tampa Airport 3rd Level Terminal Side Greeting Area:  There are 2 areas like this on this level. All depends on the gate you are coming from.

3rd level greeting and waiting area with Red Side Elevators…the Blue Elevators would be at your back in this photo.
3rd Level Terminal Side and Greeting Area

5) Curbside Pick Up:  We can also pick you up at the curb outside of your airline at the baggage claim if you prefer.  However, many times due to traffic, this can take much longer then going up with me to the parking garage.

Tampa Airport Curbside: There are again, TWO sides to the airport, RED & BLUE each have a separate curbside location at the baggage claim level.  They get pretty congested “In Season” so I do prefer the parking garage for pick ups.  That means I will meet and greet you inside the airport.

Curbside – It gets pretty congested

6) Time:  Once you deplane, please make your way to us as soon as possible. We understand you may need to stop and use the restroom or grab a quick coffee to go however. Please keep in mind we are most likely parked in the parking garage and we receive only a half hour free parking. By the time you come down to us under “normal” circumstances we have been there already 15-30 minutes.  After the the free hour we then will pay a minimum of $4.00 for the parking.  Please, we greatly appreciate you keeping this in mind.

7) Tipping Your Driver:  Please tip your drivers.  We depend on our tips and we appreciate them greatly! You may not realize it, but most Town Car and or Taxi drivers pay for all parking, road tollways, gasoline, car washes, and any extras they carry in the car for you.

I look forward to taking care of your transportation needs.  If you have any questions about anything here please email, text or call me and I will be glad to answer your questions.

Thank You for stopping by!
